5 Easy Weight Loss Tips

Thursday, November 26th, 2009 | Great Sites | Comments Off

Weight loss doesn’t have to be difficult and depressing. In fact, it should be motivational and rewarding. Here are five great tips to help ensure your experience when losing weight is a positive one.

1. Go ahead, indulge yourself! It’s just not reasonable to think you’ll be able to stick to a lifestyle of deprivation. Every now and again it’s fine to splurge and have something you really like. The trick is portion control: instead of having a three scoop monster ice cream cone, get a child’s size.

2. Eat breakfast. When your sleeping your body actually kicks into a kind of “fasting mode.” You “break the fast” when you eat breakfast (thus the name). In fact, if you can eat breakfast within an hour of getting out of bed, you may actually boost your metabolism and burn calories better throughout the day.

3. Try something new. When trying to lose weight, it’s easy to fall into a rut of eating the same foods all the time because you know they’re “safe.” But there are thousands of varieties out there that are healthy and tasty. Read the labels and try something new in the way of ethnic or exotic foods.

4. Talk to yourself. No, it doesn’t mean you’re crazy! Positive “self-talk” really does help lift your spirits and keep you motivated.

5. Take your vitamins. A good multi-vitamin will ensure your nutritional needs are being met. This is especially important if you’re on a diet plan that restricts certain kinds of foods.

The best way to lose weight is through exercise. I know because I lost 45 lbs in six months — and kept it off!

A Big Island vacation rental is a popular way to enjoy Hawaii’s Big Island without being among the multitude of tourists visiting with you. Enjoy a traditional luau, a hike up the Big Island’s active volcano, and unwind with a book on a quiet beach - all on the same day.

There is a particularly amazing mixture of breathtaking natural beauty and the best accommodations mankind has to offer at Maui resorts. Tourists all over the world swoon over a chance to visit the islands of Maui or Kauai. Kauai is affectionately called the Garden Island because of its lush green vegetation and fertile Mount Waialeale. Five Unusual Gift Ideas for Groomsmen

Thursday, November 26th, 2009 | Great Sites | Comments Off

A wedding ceremony will not be complete without groomsmen. They played a key role during the affair and spent to rent or buy their tuxedos just to make themselves appropriate to the occasion. Therefore, after the celebration, it is but right for the groom and the bride to make them feel they are appreciated.

You think you would rather stay away from the typical gift items for your groomsmen. To show gratitude, you wish to buy or create something unusual for them like personalized beer mugs. Unusual could mean extraordinary, odd, bizarre or strange. But what these words try to communicate is the thoughtfulness and the value the bride and the groom offer to their groomsmen. Let us try to come up with a gift that fits the following synonyms of the word unusual, yet appealing and, as most requested, affordable:

Shirt. Yes, shirt is an ordinary gift, but you can make this extraordinary. Buy a shirt that is too small (tiny may be the most fitting word) or too big (as big a size for two people). Then, buy colorful pens for fabric. Write down these words in big letters in front of the shirt: “I AM A PROUD GROOSMAN FOR (name of the groom) AND (name of the bride)”. You may include the date of the wedding at the back. If you like, you can also buy accessories, such as colorful beads and buttons, to add artistry in the design. Be sure to give this together with a hanger. If you cannot find one that fits the shirt, make one.

Look-Alike Doll. Find sellers of look-alike dolls online or ask referrals from people you know. Once negotiation is settled, provide a picture that is taken during your wedding. This will really become a memoir of his participation in your wedding celebration as much as personalized shot glasses. Instruct the seller to copy not only the face, but also the built and how your groomsman is dressed up. In the stand, make a request to write his name with this adjective “The best groomsman in the land” and the date of your wedding day.

Pet. If your groomsman is a pet lover, give him a dog. Name the dog GM, short for groomsman. Make sure you already provided a dog tag so he would not be able to rename the dog.

A Bottle of Wine or personalized picture frames. Or so he thought. You will just use a bottle of wine (don’t forget the cap), but what’s inside are little notes from the bride and the groom. These can contain anecdotes he shares with both of you. Write the note in small, colorful papers. Remember, boys, more often than not, are not emotional. Try to write notes that will get him off his feet! If he has stories about girls, write them down.

Ticket. This could be cinema, concert or any event ticket. This will serve as your treat. Be sure to buy one that fits his interest, though, to make sure he will attend to it.

Golf Clone Drivers - Are They Worth the Money?

Thursday, November 26th, 2009 | Great Sites | Comments Off

A clone golf club is by far the most important piece of equipment that makes sure that you play a good game. They can improve the mechanics of the golfer’s swing and a good set will minimize the effects of a swing error and produce an accurate and long shot. Golf clone drivers are usually considered a set consisting of a driver, fairway woods, irons and putters.

The advanced golfer would have at least a driver, metal fairway woods, irons and a putter in their golf bag. Golf clone drivers are a dime a dozen it seems like, but these are clearly the top of the heap. If my wife wouldn’t nag me about it, I would buy their entire line of clubs!

Irons are usually available in sets that include several different sizes. You must also take into consideration the style, size, and type of material used to make the golf club shaft. Irons or wedges are also often used when playing from the rough. Irons are offered standard in 3 sole grinds while wedges are offered standard in 5 sole grinds. With Scratch Golf, everyone can get a club that fits them and the way they swing the club making it much easier to get consistent pure contact swing after swing.

Golf clone driver are one of those recent inventions that actually live up to the hype. They’re easier to hit, and many top manufacturers are making good ones. Golf clone drivers are specially designed clubs that can help improve the game of any amateur or even a beginner. No matter what your skill level is, golf clone drivers can definitely improve your shots.

Travel with pets

Wednesday, November 25th, 2009 | Great Sites | Comments Off

Sometimes travelling with pets can be more of a hassel thatn it is worth.  Many people choose to leave their pets at home because of this.  Here are some ideas that make travelling with your pet easier. Lets use a family vacation from vail to phoenix as an example.

First, list your home as a short term rental in Vail which will help pay for your vacation.  You can also find great rentals in Phoenix which will save you even more money on your stay in Phoenix.

Because there is so much to do in Phoenix, you may want to look up a Scottsdale Pet Sitter to take care of the pets.  This will allow you to stay out all day without having to get back to the house to feed and walk the dogs as they will do it for you.

Next make sure you purchase a Handy-Leash. This is a great dog leash for travel because  it stays on your dog and your do not have to worry about losing it.  It is so much more convenient because you do not have to put the leash on every time you stop to go to the bathroom.

If you plan on golfing make sure you check out websites before you head down that will give you great deals on Green Fees.  Phoenix even has some of the best public courses in the country, so make sure you look into those as well. The best part is that using a pet sitter will allow you to play all day long.

The only part that may be a bit of a struggle is the drive.  The pets will need to go potty, but there are lots of rest areas along the way, and if you stop in Flagstaf, they do have a few Hotels that alow pets.  If you cannot find a hotel, do not hesitate to camp because some of the most beautiful camping in the country can be found near Payson and Flagstaff.

Making Sure Your Car Insurance is Valid

Wednesday, November 25th, 2009 | Great Sites | Comments Off

It is the hirer not the car leasing company that is responsible for ensuring that a contract hire car is insured and simply taking out a comprehensive policy is not enough; if the information you have supplied is not accurate you can find yourself without insurance, just when you most need it. You do also need to inform the insurer that it is a lease car you are insuring.

Most forms of insurance require you to declare material facts. This can mean that even if you have answered all the questions on the insurance application form accurately, you may still not have done enough; you have a duty to tell them of anything that may be relevant and could affect how they view your application.

Should things change once you are insured; if for example you were convicted of a motoring offence, you are safer to tell the insurance company. Many motorists genuinely forget to tell their insurers when there are changes but whether the omission is a genuine error or intentional, the end result is likely to be the same.

The most common changes that occur are changing your address or occupation. The insurance company must also be informed of a change in your health that could affect your driving ability, or any modification that is made to the vehicle after the insurance was initially taken out. Many motorists change their wheels and tyre size without informing their insurers, which can be risky if they do not comply with the manufacturer’s specification.

If there is a claim much depends on the type and seriousness of the accident as to what the insurance company’s inspectors will look at; if another vehicle drives into the back of your car, they know the claim is going to go against the third party, so they have no real incentive to examine the road worthiness of your vehicle. If however you lost control of your car on a bend, then they may well look at, amongst other things, the type and condition of you tyres. An insurance company’s ultimate responsibility is to its shareholders not the insured.

If your vehicle is written off, this can prove a problem if it is a lease car; because in these circumstances, it is treated by the contract hire company as an early termination and as such you are liable to penalties. Taking out GAP insurance is one way of avoiding this liability.

There is a form of GAP insurance called Return to Invoice (RTI) which can take care of this shortfall in the event of a lease car being written off. This insurance will cover the gap between the original invoice price of the vehicle and the current market value, the difference between the two will normally provide sufficient funds to pay the car leasing company’s early termination penalty charge, which is your liability.

Insurance policies of any type rarely cover negligence, so never leave your keys in the car. If you do and it is stolen, the insurance company will refuse to pay out, as they usually will if you have an accident whilst in excess of the legal alcohol limit or under the influence of drugs.

Many motorists do not complete their application forms honestly and the insurers are aware that this happens. They do not however do anything about it until such time that there is a serious accident, and then everything comes under scrutiny, including your original application.

On occasions insurance companies do repudiate claims that should be paid, so if in doubt you can refer your case to The Insurance Ombudsman who will look at the case in an unbiased fashion.

When an insurer doesn’t pay out after a car has been written off, it generally creates a serious financial problem for the motorist. A problem made much worse if it is a contract hire car; the car leasing company will expect the current market value of the car and the appropriate early termination penalty. Whatever the temptation, it can never really be worth providing misleading or incorrect information to an insurance company.

Wonderful Personal Trainer Frisco Texas

Tuesday, November 24th, 2009 | Great Sites | Comments Off

My personal trainer Frisco has helped me stop making empty promises to myself. Over the years I have made multiple attempts to stick with an exercise regimen. I constantly promised myself, ‘today is the day’, but for some reason, I just couldn’t keep that promise. A friend of mine told me about Lady Trainers To Go and their Frisco personal trainers. After looking into them myself, I figured that it was worth a shot.

Fortunately, it turned out to be exactly what I needed! My personal trainer in Frisco is amazing. First of all, I love that my trainer is a female. This makes me feel much more comfortable exercising, then I would be if working out with a male trainer.

Secondly, I love that my Frisco personal trainer comes to work out with me in the comfort and privacy of my own home. I’ve been a member of gyms before, but to be honest, I’m just not a fan. I would much rather exercise in a familiar place and having a personal trainer in Frisco allows me to do exactly that. She literally brings the gym to me. If I need any equipment, she brings it. In most cases though, it’s not needed.

My trainer is both knowledgeable and creative, which keeps my workouts interesting. I love that I never get bored with my exercise regimens. I’ve learned so much since working out with my trainer. I think it’s a wonderful way for anyone to get in shape. I highly recommend Lady Trainers To Go.

How to Publish Your Book

Tuesday, November 24th, 2009 | Great Sites | Comments Off

Everyone has a book in them, or so the saying goes.  I have always been interested in writing, and around ten years ago even took a course in creative writing, but then did nothing with it.  A few years ago, I realised that the only way to become a writer, was to actually get on and WRITE SOMETHING!  I know that sounds daft, but until then I’d somehow magically thought that writing would come to me - it didn’t, so I knuckled down and took a look at my strengths and interests.

As I work part-time as a gardener, the subject was an obvious choice, and the first article I wrote was about onions.  I mean, who can’t grow onions, they’re so simple.  This article has gone on to be one of my best sellers, with feedback and comments a-plenty.  Since then, I’ve written on all sorts of subjects which interest me, not just gardening.  Some of these articles have done well, and some have yet to flourish, but just because they havn’t really taken off yet doesn’t mean they won’t do so.  A little tweak here and there, with a bit of rewriting and the article has a different slant and is off to another publisher.

I suppose what I’m trying to say is NEVER GIVE UP, there is a book inside everyone, or a magazine article, or a blog, but, you have to have a thickish skin.  Don’t be downhearted when your creative masterpiece is rejected, just think about how you can recreate the article and send it off on another journey.  In the few years that I’ve been sending my stuff out to publishers, I’ve had two children’s books published, several short magazine pieces and tons of online articles.  I’ve also added copywriting to my skills, and I actually tell people that I’m a writer now, whereas before I was too embarrassed to do so.  Since I’ve ‘come out’ so to speak, as a writer, it’s amazing how many people I meet say ‘Oh, I wish I could do that’ - guess what, they could, all they have to do is write!
